Groups & Classes
At The ADHD & Asperger's/ASD Centre, we recognize that one on one therapy or coaching may not be an affordable option for everyone. Research also shows that you get the quickest results with a mix of groups and personal work, so we've created some options for understanding and mastering our ADD/ADHD and Asperger's/ASD traits in the form of groups!

What if, instead of being one incompetent, hypocritical, and unpredictable self you were multiple selves living in one body but having multiple different value systems (like the United Nations)? And what if you could get to know and integrate them all, and then create "inner-world peace"? What would your life be like if you could rely on yourself, avoid self-sabotage, finish all those exciting projects you start, strengthen your relationships, and rebuild your self-trust? Psych Professor Alina Kislenko of McMaster University, an award winning reg. psychotherapist, humanitarian, and author (and founder of The ADHD & Asperger's/ASD Centre), shares a psychological modality that brings light to the many noisy little selves living inside of us. This method is called Character Integration Therapy and has been life changing for many as it tends to bring on surprisingly quick change and growth. In this interactive workshop you will learn how to identify and integrate your colourful parts to foster your personal evolution in leaps and bounds. This is a full day workshop in a nice, comfy space. Also, lunch is included, yay food! And your psychology will come with a generous helping of fun and laughter. **Neurotypical friendly but made for the Neurodivergent (ADHD &/or Asperger's - Alina has ADHD & ASD herself)** |

Strategies for Adult ADHD/Asperger's Group
(Weekly, Walk-In)
Every Thursday, 7:00pm - 8:00pm (First Session Free!)
Learn some hands-on techniques for managing and harnessing your ADHD/Aspie superpowers while getting to know people eerily similar to yourself. We're really into a sense of community so it's common that people will go out for tea or drinks after, so feel free to plan some extra time after for social stuff if you like. Common issues we focus on include: time management, prioritization, managing paperwork, scheduling, problem solving, goal completion, focusing, and maintaining relationships but we vote on a new topic every week. |
This group usually involves a discussion around a voted topic, a relevant technique or exercise, and setting a goal/intention for the week. Feel free to come alone or bring people from your life who you would like to understand your condition better. People who just want to understand ADHD/AS better (such as parents) can also come on their own.
This group is typically led by a practitioner with ADHD and/or ASD themselves (because we get each other best).
Details: @ The ADHD & Aspergers Centre, 55 Cork St. E., unit 305., Downtown Guelph, Ontario. Cost is $15/session, but the first session is FREE. Just Drop In! No diagnosis or registration necessary.

FREE - Monthly ADHD & Asperger's Support Group
Every First Thursday of the Month, 6:00 to 7:00pm
Come by on the first Thursday of every month to connect with others with ADHD and/or ASD/Asperger's Syndrome. We typically vote on topics that attendees are interested in that day and share real-life stories that make us all feel heard and seen.
Common issues we discuss include addictions, making and keeping friends and romantic partners, self-care, procrastination, study skills, perfectionism, stigma, entrepreneurialism, accommodations, and finding the right work environment. This group is typically led by a practitioner with ADHD and/or ASD themselves (because we get it). |
